Spinning Chairs

The art of spinning yarn is thousands of years old, but the spinning wheel as we know it seems to have arrived in Europe around the middle of the 13th Century and along with it the three legged spinning stool.

These little spinning chairs, still with three legs but with the addition of a back, are ideal for craft spinners or simply as a decorative item in the home. I make them with different heights, the smaller ones make great presents for childrens birthdays, christenings, etc., for which purpose they can have added a carved name or date.The backs are hand carved with various motifs or fantasy creatures making each one unique and individual.

My spinning chairs are made to order with a lead time of 3-4 weeks.
